I love to see a young girl go out and grab the world by the lapels. Life’s a bitch. You’ve got to go out and kick ass.
Mayo Angelou Quotes
Power Thought Coaching:
All of us have had times in our life when we were grabbing life by the lapels and taking names later! It’s also true that many of us – especially in these trying and troubling times – feel a lot less like the windshield and a lot more like the bug. And some of us have become so entrenched in the struggle to survive and have been for so long that we’ve forgotten why we would bother grabbing life by the lapels in the first place.
It happens. It’s as natural as the changing of the seasons that we lose our way at times and thank God for it! We’ve changed and grown and sometimes need a good swift kick in the seat of the pants to get us to slow down long enough to re-discover our dreams or to bother checking in and see if our old dreams are even still a good fit for us.
What seasons have been at work in your life? What season is your life in now? What season do you see coming into your future and what do you have to do to prepare for it? What dream do you have for your life that would be so gargantuan and powerful and so very compelling that it would pull you through the seasons to come without effort, strain or struggle? What is the biggest dream you could possibly dare to dream?

The true stewardship of a woman lies not in what she has, but in how she affects the lives of others.
Rheba Washington-Lindsey Quotes
Power Thought Coaching:
I’m like anyone else and I have days where the only balance sheet I see is the one that shows what I have and what I don’t have yet. We get to be reminders to each other of the ways in which we matter and how we make our lives count for something. How are you affecting the lives of others? How do you want to affect the lives of others and what do you need to do to fill that gap?

Politics hates a vacuum. If it isn’t filled with hope, someone will fill it with fear.
Naomi Klein Quotes
Power Thought Coaching:
Whatever your opinion may be of Obama he clearly met a deeply held need for inspirational leadership. We’re starving for it and he offered us hope in the face of rabid fear and hate mongers. It would seem that we all have the opportunity to replace fear with faith and hope in our lives. Where do you need to be filled with hope?

Power Thought on Worry

(She) spoke with the nonchalance of someone who’d never had to worry about such things.
Eileen Goudge Quotes
Power Thought Coaching:
We can afford to be nonchalant about the things we’ve never had to struggle with and for so very many people the time of nonchalance is over. The Universe seems to have decreed that no one is allowed to be asleep at the wheel anymore. While I might wish that things were coming as easily as they use to I am profoundly grateful to have become tempered into the person that I am today. Each new level of awakening is brilliant and amazing and I keep thinking that “NOW I’m awake…” and then discovering a whole new level of it. Where might you be being nonchalant towards the struggles of others? What lessons could you learn and what might power would become available to you if you listened to them with more of your heart?
Power Thought on Women

Women really do rule the world. They just haven’t figured it out yet. When they do, and they will, we’re all in big big trouble.
Doctor Leon Quotes
Power Thought Coaching:
Throughout much of my Mother’s life she felt frustrated at her lack of power and control. As I’ve matured I’ve become so appreciative of what a truly powerful woman she was and how indelibly she shaped the lives of the people around her. Being controlling and domineering is not considered a very feminine way to behave and power has been defined by men for many centuries. It is long overdue to define for ourselves what it means to be powerful and influential and to appreciate our power and control by our own standards. Where in your life are you adopting without question someone else’s definition of what it means to be a woman and to be powerful and successful?
